KINABALU SUMMIT EXPEDITION & HOISTING OF THE 75TH ANNIVERSARY SRIB BANNER AT MALAYSIA’S HIGHEST PEAK

KUNDASANG, 21–22 June 2025 – In celebration of its Diamond Jubilee, the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (LIGS) proudly marked another historic milestone through the Kinabalu Summit Expedition and the Hoisting of the 75th Anniversary LIGS Banner at the highest peak in Malaysia.

The two-day expedition involved 13 participants, comprising 3 Deputy General Managers representing top management and 10 officers and staff members from the LIGS Headquarters. The climb began on 21 June 2025 at 9:00 AM from Timpohon Gate and was successfully completed on 22 June 2025 at approximately 3:00 PM.

This mission was more than just a climb—it symbolized the commitment and unity of all LIGS members in honoring 75 years of the organization’s legacy. It is also one of the key programs planned throughout the year in conjunction with the 75th Anniversary Celebration of LIGS.

LIGS extends its sincere appreciation to Sabah Parks for their cooperation and the permission granted, which enabled the smooth and meaningful execution of this special expedition.

Congratulations and well done to all expedition members for their determination and outstanding achievement!


MAFFI KAAMATAN CELEBRATION CEREMONY 2025

KOTA KINABALU, 20 June 2025 – The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry (MAFFI), Datuk Seri Panglima Dr Jeffrey G. Kitingan, emphasized the importance of unity and food security in his speech during the 2025 MAFFI-Level Kaamatan Festival Celebration.

The event, aimed at celebrating the Kaamatan Festival at the ministerial level, was held following the state-level celebration, which was launched on 1 May in Tambunan and culminated at Hongkod Koisaan KDCA Penampang on 30 and 31 May.

He underscored the significance of this year’s theme, “Kaamatan Montok Toinsanan” or “Kaamatan for All”, which clearly reflects the longstanding unity among Sabah’s multiracial and multiethnic communities.

FIRST EXPORT OF FRESH MD2 PINEAPPLE FROM SABAH

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah made history in the agricultural sector with its first shipment of 15 tonnes of fresh MD2 pineapples exported overseas via Sepanggar Port on Tuesday (Feb 25).
This export was carried out under the People's Income Initiative – Agropreneur Program (IPR INTAN), managed by the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB), and was sent to Rompin Integrated Pineapple Industries (ROMPINE).

Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, in his speech at the launch ceremony at Sepanggar Port, described this achievement as a symbol of transformation in Sabah’s agricultural landscape, particularly for small-scale farmers striving to improve their livelihoods through modern and high-value agriculture.

SRIB DONATES RM2 MILLION TO THE STATE GOVERNMENT

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB), an agency under the Sabah Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry, has contributed RM2 million to the State Government.

The contribution was handed over to the Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, by the General Manager of SRIB, Sabdil Tanjong, along with the Chairman of SRIB, Datuk Edward Linggu, and its board members during a courtesy visit at Menara Kinabalu on Tuesday.
According to LIGS General Manager Sabdil Tanjong, the contribution amount increased by 33% compared to last year’s RM1.5 million. He stated that this contribution reflects SRIB's strong financial performance in 2023 and its commitment to sharing the vision of developing the state of Sabah.

COURSES ON SELF-SAFETY EQUIPMENT AWARENESS

Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB) successfully organized a Self-Safety Equipment Awareness Course from May 6th to 8th, 2024, under the Rubber Plantation Scheme. The course was attended by a total of 957 participants. The purpose of this course was to ensure that small rubber farmers are aware of the importance of personal safety when carrying out maintenance activities in the plantations, such as pesticide application, grass cutting, and fertilization.

RURAL EXCO COORDINATION MEETING (MEXCLUB)

KOTA KINABALU - 10 MAY 2024: Coordination Meeting with Rural Exco Members (MEXCLUB) was held at the Grand Ballroom, The Pacific Sutera, Kota Kinabalu. During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural Development and Territories (KKDW), Dato Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, visited the Sabah Industry Rubber Board (SRIB) exhibition booth and enjoyed fresh pineapples and pineapple juice produced by participants of the Additional Economic Activities (AET) program.

"BELIEVE IN YOUR DREAM" PROGRAMME

KOTA KINABALU - 10 MARCH 2024: 
The "Believe in Your Dream" program was held at the Multipurpose Hall of Kampung Gana Kota Marudu on 10th March 2024. The event was organized by the Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB) and the Sports, Recreation, and Welfare Club of SRIB. The program was officiated by Yang Berhormat Datuk Hendrus Anding - Deputy Minister 1 of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry of Sabah, accompanied by Datuk Edward Linggu J.P - Chairman of the Sabah Rubber Industry Board, Tuan Sabdil Tanjong - Director-General of the Sabah Rubber Industry Board, Tuan Eswadi Bin Roslan - President of the Sports, Recreation, and Welfare Club of LIGS, and Tuan Marshal Anthony@Idham - Assistant District Officer of Kota Marudu.

SRIB RECEIVED THE FIRST FOREST MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE IN MALAYSIA

KOTA KINABALU:  Sabah Rubber Industry Board (SRIB), agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Industry of Sabah has successfully obtained the first in Malaysia Forest Management Certification in rubber category from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).
